It’s opening time once again at Joe Lycett’s paisley-carpeted boozer, and even though the pub is only open for an hour a week, Lycett isn’t a man to do things by halves. Accordingly, the premises are legit, the bevvies are real and hopefully so is the atmosphere of convivial chaos. This week, Joe welcomes Lenny Henry, who offers Brum solidarity as temporary bar manager, and comic Joanne McNally, who proves a lively punter. Phil Harrison

New World Symphony at the Proms

It often takes an outsider to truly tap into another nation’s DNA, as this piece demonstrates. It was penned by Dvořák, a homesick Bohemian in New York, who took his musical cues from the “tender and passionate” African American spirituals (“all that is needed for a great and noble school of music”, he enthused). Another series of a show that strays dangerously close to being an extended advert for the Yorkshire tourist board but offers gentle escapism all the same. Gaynor Faye enlists the help of a horse called Toffee as she overcomes a lifelong fear of the animals, while country pile Castle Howard undergoes a restoration. Bucolic. PH

If you’re in the market for a cosy crime show that definitely won’t require your full attention, this Brooke Shields vehicle is the epitome of a double-screen delight. This week’s episode – titled The Front Window – is a thoroughly silly, poison-infused take on Hitchcock’s classic tale of voyeurism and murder. Hannah J Davies

More of the bingeable – if rather far-fetched – legal drama based on John Grisham’s novel. Rudy (Milo Callaghan) is drawn further into the dangerous home life of his neighbours, and there are revelations about the excellently named litigator Jocelyn “Bruiser” Stone (Lana Parrilla) and her scandal-hit dad. 11.40pm, Sky One
Jon Hamm voices old-school detective Marvin Flute in this animated sitcom that delights in sending up cop show cliches. A ribald triple bill kicks off with Flute causing chaos at Grimsburg’s annual true-crime convention when he realises that the fans are more interested in notorious killers than him and his paunch.
